Materials Science and Engineering
David Lyday is an undergraduate majoring in Material Science & Engineering at UC Davis. As a first-generation community college transfer student, David knew engineering was his passion but it wasn't until he arrived at the home of Gunrock that his enthusiasm for science could be used to make a positive change. David is a vocal student from the central valley who spends his time outside the lab pushing for a more sustainable future by volunteering with CALPIRG. In the McCormack lab, David is compiling enthalpy and entropy data from hundreds of sources to provide future engineers with a consolidated reference of material formation data.
